🏋️ How to cancel Planet Fitness
FitnessSigning up for Planet Fitness took about ninety seconds. Cancelling is a different story — and that's not an accident, it's a design choice. Companies measure exactly how much money a confusing cancel flow saves them. Here's the real route, start to finish.
The steps that actually work
- Many clubs now let you cancel in the PF app or at planetfitness.com under Account → Membership — check there first.
- If no online option, cancel IN PERSON at your home club with photo ID, or mail a signed letter by USPS Certified Mail to that club (not corporate).
- Include full name, member ID, and address; keep the certified-mail receipt as proof.
- Submit before your next monthly bill and well before the annual-fee date.

⚠️ The trap they're counting on
Stuck? This is one of the hard ones.
If Planet Fitness has you cornered — a contract balance, a phone maze, a certified letter, a charge you think you shouldn't have paid — a real person can take it on with you: the calls, the letters, the disputes.
Tell us what you're up against and we'll quote it. No scheduler, no deposit, no obligation — you write, a person reads it and replies with what it would take. If it's something you can finish yourself, we'll say that instead and it costs you nothing.

You remembered this one. What about the ones you didn't?
You searched for this page, which means you knew you were paying for it. Nobody googles the subscription they forgot about — and the forgotten ones are where the real money goes. The annual charge that hit eleven months ago. The trial that quietly converted. The second account you opened and never closed.
This guide is free, like every guide on this site. What QuitSub does that you can't do from memory is scan your bank statements on your own device — nothing uploaded, no bank login, no Plaid — and surface the charges you'd stopped noticing. The scan runs free and shows you how many it found and what they cost; seeing all of them, with the way out of each, is $49 per scan, and free if it finds less than $49 a year. It found the founder $7,771/yr in his own statement, and he clawed $4,685 of past charges back in full.
